Young & Rubicon branding has released their case study for the 2018 UEFA Soccer tournament. They wanted to create a brand design that was inclusive of all 55 countries competing, and we think they did a good job! That’s a lot of colors to incorporate! What do you think of their result?

There are a lot of reasons why we love doing graphic design, and the folks at U.K.-based online magazine Creative Boom put together a list of some of those reasons, and why now has never been a better time to do it. For a couple of teasers, the technology is more inspiring than ever yet it’s a set of skills that robots and machines can’t mimic, it forces you to problem solve every day which boosts brain power, and you get to absorb beautiful, creative things that offset the tough times. Twitter announced yesterday that they are testing out a double character limit design for tweets. That’s right–instead of the classic 140 character limit, they are considering rolling out 280 character tweets. What do you think about the increase? IKEA is launching IKEA Place, an AR app that lets you visualize their furniture in your home like never before. The app will insert a scaled, 3D image of the item you’re considering buying into the space in your home, to be viewed on your phone’s screen. So now, you can know if that chair is perfect and worth assembling without having to actually do it!

Imagine walking into a Nike Store, designing your own one-of-a-kind sneaker and walking out with the finished product in less than 90 minutes. Nike just made that possible with The Nike Makers’ Experience. It’s the brainchild of Nike and advertising firm Wieden + Kennedy, who ingeniously used augmented reality, object tracking and projection systems to bring designs to life on their customers’ feet. We love this because it shows what can happen when advertising agencies and their clients set a high goal and use emerging technologies to bring customers the ultimate example in personalization.
