You Can Judge These Books By Their Covers: The 2024 Penguin Cover Design Award Shortlist

We all like to think we don’t judge books by their covers, but let’s be honest, those covers do catch our eye, especially when you’re a designer! Penguin Books is leaning into this inevitability with their Cover Design Awards. Since it began in 2022, the competition has invited creatives to reimagine covers for popular Penguin book titles, and this year, the selections were “Atomic Habits” by James Clear, “Daisy Jones and the Six” by Taylor Jenkins Reid, and “City of Stolen Magic” by Nazneen Ahmed Pathak. The contest received over 1,800 entries, and the winners will be announced on June 27, but in the meantime, you can check out some of these incredible covers!
