How KEYLAY shows up during crunch time

Dec 04, 2025

Hard deadlines put pressure on everyone, especially you. As the clock ticks down, you still want to produce a marketing piece that’s a quality product and solves a business problem.

The last point is the most important because without a strategy behind the design, it won’t be as effective for your business. However, you can still get the best of both worlds even when there’s a tight schedule.

We navigate this with you by balancing speed with delivering designs that actually help move you closer to your goals. For your project(s), this means we have internal systems in place to create, refine, and launch quickly.

We’re showing how we show up for you on rush projects where focus, speed, and strategy all need to work together like an orchestra.

Keeping strategy at the forefront

Generative AI has changed the way many industries work. But it’s not a silver bullet. Reports from 2025 indicate that while AI usage has doubled since 2023, a staggering 95% of organizations didn’t see a measurable result on their investment.

In its current state, ChatGPT, Claude, and other large language models (LLMs) are helpful for smaller, more repetitive tasks. But they still need a lot of human oversight and direction for complex, strategic problems.

If you rely too much on AI to produce a design, there’s the danger of creating something that’s “good enough.” Yes, you’ll get a lightning-fast result, but it doesn’t actually help your business in the long term.

How we show up:
We’re not anti-AI. In fact, we use it as an agency to speed up production work like image editing.

But the one thing we don’t do is use it as a replacement for strategic thinking.

For time-sensitive projects, the first thing we’ll do is get the details from you about the design’s objective and recommend the best strategy to help you achieve it. As we design, we’ll use this strategy as a filter to make sure the “why” remains front and center, even with a compressed timeline.

Streamlining high-pressure projects

When using AI, there’s still a lot of workshopping of prompts and tweaking of outputs that need to happen, so the final design comes out the way you want it to. But, during rush projects, you don’t have the luxury of spending valuable time doing the above.

So, while AI can beat humans on raw output, it loses on effective speed. And unlike LLMs, we don’t hallucinate.

As an agency, we lean on our extensive experience with similar projects to accelerate the design process.

How we show up:
From last-minute trade show booth designs to digital graphics for a new product launch due in less than 24 hours, our team is used to quick turnaround times. And in contrast to AI, we immediately understand the context behind the problem you want to solve.

We leverage years of design knowledge and battle-hardened internal processes to save time.

This means that we’re moving fast, going from project briefing right into execution, refinement, and delivery. To do this effectively, we’re only using the people necessary to get your project done on time and to our (and your!) high standards.

Eliminating decision fatigue

More often than not, you’re making dozens, if not hundreds, of choices related to your day-to-day work.

The last thing you should worry about is reviewing dozens of design options and giving feedback on each one, which isn’t the best use of time.

How we show up:
Remember those internal processes we mentioned earlier?

Before you ever see a round of design, it undergoes a rigorous internal review. So, what does this look like during projects with hard deadlines?

During rush projects, we don’t deviate from our normal internal process. It just moves faster.

To start, when our designers create a design, it’s checked by our Creative Director, who makes sure it adheres to the strategy and brief. Then, edits are made and based on the Creative Director’s feedback before being reviewed again.

By the time you get the design to give your stamp of approval, there are minimal changes, if any.

Calming the storm

Even when you’re under the gun to produce a new marketing piece, its design still needs to solve an actual business problem.

Yes, you could turn to AI to crank out a design. However, you might end up spending more time troubleshooting and workshopping prompts to get something close to what you’re actually looking for.

Partnering with an agency like ours means you get the “we’ve seen this before” expertise that reduces ramp-up and design time. All of this experience means that we bring our existing internal processes and frameworks along for the ride.

When it’s crunch time, this speed and strategic thinking make tight deadlines manageable, giving you the confidence that your project and business are in good hands.
