If At First You Don’t Succeed…
Jun 07, 2019
A suite of rejected logos of the Playstation gaming system has surfaced on Reddit, which shows all of the failures that happened to get to the logo we know and love today. (Sidenote, if you don’t follow the r/graphic_design subreddit, you really should!) All of the concepts were created by Japanese designer Manabu Sakamoto. The current logo, made up of the letter ‘P’ standing over the letter ‘S’, has persisted since PlayStation hit the shelves in 2004. Goes to show that your first try is rarely the “perfect” design! Graphic design is an iterative process, and every failure brings you one step closer to the finish line.
