Dole Greens Up Their Packaging

The Dole company has a new plan to cut back on food waste, as well as traditional plastic waste. The parts of the fruit that don’t get eaten, like the skin and leaves, are being repurposed into packaging for their fruit! Dole aims to have zero food waste in their products by 2050, and achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2030. You see a lot about design being used for good, but packaging design can sometimes fall through the cracks.

Mattel has given the beloved card game UNO a facelift! The toy company has released the second in it’s Artiste series, and it features well-known artist Keith Haring. That name may not ring a bell to you, but once you see his art, you know exactly who he is! A vocal advocate for the LGBTQ+ community, the late Keith Haring was an influential pop artist in the 90s, and this deck was created in partnership with the Keith Haring Foundation.

Fashion Week is sure going to look a lot different this year, which is such a shame. It’s a highlight of the design year! Dior has shown that they are pulling out all of the stops to try to compensate for the fact that there won’t be any in-person fashion shows this year. Directed by Italian filmmaker Matteo Girrone, Dior has mae a short film with some of their styles…in miniature form! The amount of detail is incredible and the short film is magical.
