This Valentine’s Day (this Sunday, in case anyone needed the reminder), take some time to send cheer to a patient at St. Jude’s Childrens’ Hospital. They make it very easy, with a platform that hooks you up with the ecard of your choice, and sends your wishes to a patient. The best part: the adorable cards are based off of illustrations and designs from the patients themselves!

Cooked up by London-based agency Studio Sutherl&, different viewpoints are united to create a really dynamic logotype that is just stunning. They have taken the multi-faceted views that the organization strives to promote and injected their logo with them. Graphic design promoting good work, we love it!

The Biden White House has decided they needed a clean slate, and have introduced a new White House logo. And as is often the case in graphic design, it took 30 iterations to get just right! The new logo highlights the architecture of the building that holds the highest office in our country, and was meticulously designed to look correct across mobile devices and in print. The first artist up: Leandro Assis, a Brazilian artist whose logo and art is already up on the site. This hilarious Reddit thread is a great reminder for designers: always think about the end user of your design! A Reddit user asked “What’s your best example of ‘Whoever designed this must not use their own product?’” and the internet delivered. While these are fun to read, they’re a great lesson to always remember the entire point of your design. Don’t be like the engineers who designed a TV that doesn’t work without a remote!

Obviously, after a year like 2020, the predictions for 2021 are probably going to be more a divergence than they normally are. The report collects previously unknown, unusual, or out-there concepts that are likely to be a part of everyday life in the next 12 months. Some of the predictions seem in line with our recent experiences, and some we’re not so sure about.
