‘Meet Me At Apple:’ The Tech Giant’s Quest To be the New Town Square

Apple has its critics, sure. But you can’t deny the tech giant’s marketing and design skills, not to mention the quality of its products (but maybe not the price). The company’s latest move (literally) is to open a new flagship store inside the Carnegie Library in Washington, D.C. The big difference between this and any other Apple store opening is that it’s happening on city-owned property and not in a mall somewhere.

Nike Rings in 2019 with a Limited Edition Chinese Zodiac Collection

According to the Chinese calendar, 2019 marks the Year of the Pig, which is the twelfth and final animal sign in the Chinese Zodiac. To mark the occasion, Nike has created a limited edition 2019 Chinese New Year collection. The shoes come with 12 designs, inspired by all 12 Chinese Zodiac signs, and a variety of models. This 2019 Chinese New Year collection will be released throughout the month of January.

Called simply WSJ Design, the site gives a behind-the-scenes look at what goes on behind the design scenes at the global paper. We’re finding it to be a fascinating exploration of print design, and it’s always refreshing to see how other designers work!

These very normal looking portraits and photos look like something you’d see every day, right? That’s the impressive thing about them: none of them are actually photographs! Every single one was generated by artificial intelligence. It only took a week of training the AI before it was capable of creating incredibly believable photos!
