How Beer and Clever Design Made This Band’s Album Release Pop

How do you make an album release stand out when so few people buy physical copies anymore? Boston band The Lights Out released their album on Spotify … on a beer can! The crew over at The Dieline wrote about how the band enlisted a local brewery to make a beer inspired by the album. What was ingenious was that they released the album on the packaging right on the can. Consumers could then tweet the hashtag on the can to start the musical journey.

We’re Loving this Hotel Chain’s New “Barketing” Campaign

London hotel chain The Hoxton wanted to get the word out that the were going dog-friendly, so they got illustrator Alice Bowsher and Ennismore Design Studio to create an unforgettable “barketing” campaign, according to Digital Arts. It includes a manual with info on the best parks and pet spas in the areas, illustrated dog bowls and sticker packs. Our favorite touch was the tongue-in-cheek website written in woofs and barks for dogs to read.

The laugh factory enlisted the agency loyalkaspar to give the network what it called “a new sonic identity.” The agency even created a custom typeface for the network called, appropriately, Comedy Sans. Street(sign) Style

I think we can all agree that street signs are necessary. They get you to where you need to go, and warn you if you’re going where you shouldn’t, like the wrong way down a one-way! French artist Clet Abraham decided that, while useful, traffic signs could use a whole lot more sizzle. The artist upgrades traffic signs all around the world, and the results are really cool!
