Last weekend was St. Patrick’s Day, celebrated all across the US with fairly rowdy festivities. Chicago, a city with a traditionally large celebration, has a tradition of dying the Chicago River green to celebrate the saint. This year, however, some design-savvy creatives realized it was the perfect color for some green screen fun! They replaced the green river water with a variety of alternate “water”, from lava to the Avengers Endgame trailer. We love seeing creativity in the wild!

How familiar are you with Bauhaus? It’s a German art and design school that’s considered one of the most influential in history. So to mark the school’s centennial, an Australian freelancer platform asked graphic designers to reimagine the world’s biggest brand logos in the Bauhaus style. Using the Bauhaus aesthetic of “less is more,” the designers wowed us with their takes on the logos of Netflix, Apple, Ferrari and more. It’s a fitting tribute to an iconic graphic design school!

Well this is a new one…apparently, there aren’t enough exotic places on Earth to make tourism campaigns for anymore. The ad agency Weiden + Kennedy has teamed up with a Russian airline to make a series of “documentaries” to attract tourists…but with a twist: they want to attract extraterrestrial visitors to come to Earth. The series titled “Visit Earth” might claim to be “made for aliens,” but what it really is is a reminder to humankind that there is more to Planet Earth than meets the eye.
