Nothing gimmicky here, this collection is an achievement of good design, and the pieces wouldn’t look out of place in any month of the year…unless you wore the sandals in December! Apparently, less than 1% of people can get this color perception quiz correct. You know what we said to that? Challenge accepted! We think our graphic design skills give us a leg up here! This quiz is pretty challenging, and the results have some pretty interesting implications. Apparently, women score better than men, color perception declines as you get older, and even the language you speak can have ramifications on how well you do.

A suite of rejected logos of the Playstation gaming system has surfaced on Reddit, which shows all of the failures that happened to get to the logo we know and love today. (Sidenote, if you don’t follow the r/graphic_design subreddit, you really should!) All of the concepts were created by Japanese designer Manabu Sakamoto. The current logo, made up of the letter ‘P’ standing over the letter ‘S’, has persisted since PlayStation hit the shelves in 2004.

By utilizing 3D scanning and printing, the Helsinki-based designer Mark Dillion has brought fine art to tangible life, allowing those with impaired vision to touch and experience art they otherwise wouldn’t be able to enjoy. Talk about setting design on fire! Fox has released special edition posters promoting a new show about vampires…with a very special twist. In keeping with vampire legend, that they can be harmed with silver, garlic, and sunlight, Fox has produced posters for the show that will burst into flames when the rays of the sign catch them. We love this creative design idea!
