That wasn’t just a random choice, it’s a deliberate nod to the company’s meticulously-planned product release keynotes. Dating from the Steve Jobs era, where the product release announcements were choreographed to the second, the signature time began with a slight miscalculation during the original iPhone launch rehearsal. Former Apple executive Scott Forstall revealed that Jobs unveiled the phone a minute earlier than rehearsed: 9:41 AM. From then on, Apple adjusted its timing strategy, aiming for the “big reveal” around the 40-minute mark of its presentations.
