Custom Kimono for Olympic Countries

Japan, the host of the 2020 Olympics, is honoring each participating nation of the games in an incredibly unique way. Using the kimono as a canvas, each participating country has a custom kimono design that uses influences from their cultures. In a years-long project called the Kimono Project, international outreach association Imagine Oneworld gathered inspiration and got to designing, creating these individual works of art. There were plans to showcase all the designs at the opening ceremony for the games, but like many things, that plan was scrapped due to COVID. Lucky for us, they can all be viewed online!
