Reddit Rebrand

It’s a rebrand, and a big one! Design agency Pentagram took on a massive makeover for Reddit, with the goal of capturing that “utopian vibe” in how the site looks. The design team wanted to tidy up Reddit’s mishmash of visuals that had sprouted and grown over time, including revamping Snoo, Reddit’s client mascot, by giving it a 3D look and making a collection of emoji to show its different moods. The cherry on top is a fresh font called Reddit Display, with chat bubbles hidden in the letters. They also slimmed down Reddit’s crayon box of colors to fifteen bold ones, ditching over a hundred others (we are speechless, that’s a LOT). Basically, Pentagram aimed to capture Reddit’s mix of diversity, uniqueness, quirkiness, and honesty in a new look that feels like one big, lively community, and we think they succeeded with flying colors!
