Pantone Sneaks the Colors of Love into Qatar

If you’ve watched any coverage of the 2022 World Cup, held in Qatar this year, you’ve surely seen the pretty strict requirements the country is imposing on the spectators and players. FIFA and the host country of Qatar gave assurances that the rainbow flag would be allowed at all World Cup events, but it seems that’s not the case in actuality: several Wales fans had their rainbow hats confiscated before they were allowed to enter a stadium for a match, and there are reports that an American fan had a rainbow flag taken away. So Pantone saw an opportunity to redesign the rainbow flag and give World Cup fans the opportunity to wave and wear it proudly, without fear of repercussions.
